Gary L. Elliott, of Cassadaga, N.Y., age 79, died Thursday September 27, 2018 at the Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born December 24, 1938 to Edgar and Faith Metzger Elliott in Dunkirk, New York. Gary graduated from Fredonia High School Class of ’56. After graduating from Fredonia High School, Gary enlisted U.S. Air Force in 1956, retiring in 1978 after 22 years of service. He was an Inflight Refueling Hydraulic Boom Specialist in the Air Force and later worked for Ultra-Pak in Dunkirk, N.Y. as a maintenance mechanic. Gary was a longtime active member of the Cassadaga American Legion and also enjoyed woodworking.
Gary is survived by his three sons: Steven (Gerri) Utter of Chandler, Arizona, Warren (Lisa) Elliott of Ridgeland, South Carolina, and Deven Elliott of Blufften, North Carolina;
Four grandchildren: Scott and Aubrey Utter, Madison and Garrett Elliott: a brother, James (Sandra) Elliott of Orchard Park, N.Y.; two sisters: Barbara (late Richard) Whipple of Fredonia, N.Y. and Lori (Charles) Wannop of Williamsport, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gary is predeceased by his brother Ronald Elliott.
Calls may be made Monday from 4-7 pm at the Larson-Timko Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11am. Interment will be in the Cassadaga Cemetery, where full Military Honors will be accorded by the Cassadaga American Legion. Flowers gratefully declined.
