Katherine M. “Billie” Furness ( Phy), age 95, of Margate, Florida, formerly of Fredonia, New York, died Sunday October 21, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Fredonia with her loving family at her side. Katherine was born January 15, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late Albert C. and Emily (Davidson) Phy. She is survived by: two daughters, Sally (Mark) Piazza of Fredonia, N.Y., and Kathy Furness (Jeremy Samucha) of Fredonia, N.Y., Lori (Randal) Fabritias of Sinclairville, N.Y., and Thomas Furness of Fort Lauderdale, Fl.; eight grandchildren: Edward, Kate, Megan, Adam, Jennifer, Josh, Kenneth and Joseph; four great- grandchildren and a brother Albert “Jim” Phy of Philadelphia, Pa.
Besides her parents, Katherine is predeceased by her husband, Harold Lloyd Furness; a brother, John C. Phy and a sister, Emily VanderVort. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
