Obituary for Betty J. Miller

Betty J. Miller of Englewood Florida formerly of Fredonia, NY, died peacefully on Tuesday September 7th 2021 at her home.
Betty was born July 10th 1932 in the town of Pomfret. Her parents were David and Bertha Franskowiak.
She was a graduate of Brocton High School and held various accounting jobs in the Fredonia area until beginning work in the Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegheny BOCES finance office (later known as Erie 2,) from where she retired in 1992. She moved to Englewood, Florida where she volunteered as a data processor for the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. She was a patients’ assistant at Englewood Hospital and a child mentor for the Englewood Community Center.
Betty was married to Glenn A. Miller, a self-employed business owner in Fredonia, NY.
Betty had many hobbies. She enjoyed sewing, bowling, gardening, dancing and travelling. She loved her dogs Smokey and McLeod. Above all things, she loved being with her family. Betty enjoyed attending events for her grandchildren. She belonged to several organizations that include: the NYS RPEA, New York State Women’s Bowling Association, the American Legion Post 59 Auxiliary, The Englewood Camera Club, The Myakka West Homemakers, and the National Red Hat Society. Betty also belonged to St. Joseph’s Parish in Fredonia and St. Francis of Assisi Church in Englewood, FL; where she enjoyed the Sunday morning breakfast group.
Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband Glenn, a brother Thomas, several sisters: Josephine Klajbor, Mary Ortolano, and Doris Pacos; as well as several brothers -in -laws, nieces and nephews.
Betty is survived by: one son, Kirk (Nancy) Miller, of Fredonia; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, and Victoria; her sisters: Rosie Essex, Barbara Kulig, Pauline Crowell, Patricia Polley and Frances (Molly) Franskowiak; also many nieces, nephews, and their children. Betty is remembered by very close friends and former work associates, Bud and Jan Dietz, of Port Charlotte Florida.
Visitation hours will be Friday October 15, 2021 from 6-9 pm at the Larson-Timko Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 145 E. Main St., Fredonia on Saturday October 16, 2021 at 10 am. Interment will be in Willowbrook Cemetery.
