David G. Markey, 64, of Fredonia, New York lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday May 11, 2021 at home with his loving family and his dogs at his bedside. He was born on February 5, 1957 to Virgil G. and Carol (Watson) Markey. David grew up in Erie, Pa. and graduated from McDowell High School. He was a long time NYS Corrections Officer at Sing-Sing, Attica and Gowanda Correctional Facilities. He loved antique cars and motorcycles. Dave was a member of the Beaver Club, Conservation Club and Moniuszko Club.

David is survived by: his step-mother Theresa Markey of Erie, Pa.; his wife, Theresa (Gillman) Markey; his daughter, Alyssa Markey (Ely Pagayonan) of Buffalo, N.Y., his son, Justin (Katie) Markey of Tampa, FL; grandchildren: Caleb, Ashton and Cora Markey; his sister, Debbie Markey (Mark) Lang, his brother, Jeff Markey and step-brother, Chip Markey.

Besides his parents, Dave is predeceased by his first wife, Donna (Leuschen) Markey Wright and step-son, Anthony Strozyk.

Visitation is Monday from 6-8pm at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia, N.Y., where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 am. The funeral service will be live streamed on David’s site on the funeral home’s website, larsontimkofuneralhome.com.
