Obituary for James S. Meyers

James S. Meyers, 81, of Fredonia, NY, died Friday January 21, 2022 at home with his loving family at his side. Jim was born in Dunkirk on October 7, 1940, the son of John and Johanna (Rozulmalski) Meyers. He was a proud United States Navy veteran, serving from 1957-1961. Jim was employed at Fredonia Heating & Insulating Co. and AL Tech Specialty Steel, from where he retired. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, and also traveling the country in his motor home.
Jim served the Fredonia community as a member of the Lambert Hook & Ladder Fire Department. He was a longtime member of the Fredonia Beaver Club and an avid Buffalo Bills fan.
Jim is survived by: his wife, Joan (Berkshire) Meyers; three daughters: Jodi Meyers (Tim), of ; Kimberly Tofil (Mike), of Tennessee and Debbie (Keith) Panek, of Dunkirk; three grandchildren: Jessica Berdyck, of Fredonia, Philip (Candice) Berdyck, of South Carolina, and Nicholas (Emily) Berdyck, of Fredonia; three great-grandchildren: Noah Berdyck, of Silver Creek, Jaxon Ostler, of Fredonia, Leila and Dexter Parkman, of South Carolina; also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Korzienewski, of Dunkirk; besides his parents, John and Johanna Meyers, Jim is predeceased by 2 brothers: Robert and John E. Meyers;
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia, where prayers will be offered Wednesday morning at 9:15 am, (FACE MASKS REQUIRED), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, 145 E. Main Street, Fredonia at 10 am. Military Honors, accorded by the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council will be held at church.
