Obituary for Marian Drago Passafaro

MARIAN DRAGO PASSAFARO 1928 - 2023 To view webcast click here: https://iframe.dacast.com/b/156599/c/572258 Marian Drago Passafaro, of Fredonia, NY, entered eternal rest Saturday February 25, 2023 at Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dunkirk, New York. She is the daughter of Anthony F. and Frances LaDuca Drago. She is predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Dr. Ronald Passafaro; Marian is survived by her five children: Jeffrey (the late Virginia) Passafaro; David Passafaro; Paula (Dr. Michael) Burley; Ronald J. (Paula) Passafaro; Marian F. (Donald) McGraw; grandchildren: Jeffrey R. and Reed A. Passafaro; Brittany and Olivia Passafaro; Alexandra, Ian and Quentin Burley; Veronica, Dillon and Brigid McGraw; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Passafaro was a proud graduate of Fredonia High School and the College of New Rochelle, class of 1950. A life-long resident of Fredonia, for most of the time, in the family home on Central Avenue built by her parents in 1930. In her later years, she had a winter residence in Naples, Fl. She and her late husband travelled extensively, with trips to Russia, Ireland, UK, and Bermuda, Hawaii, the Adirondacks, Cape Cod, and various other destinations. Particularly important were numerous trips to beloved Italy, where she spent many happy times with family and friends exercising her fluency in Italian. She also enjoyed tennis, skiing, bridge, and volunteer work. Mrs. Passafaro was a long time member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fredonia, its Bishop’s Committee, instrumental in initiating the school’s Home School Association, a CCD instructor, and a lector at Mass. She also volunteered her time at the St. Vincent DePaul Center in Naples, Fl. Blessed by a long life, she leaves extended family and many friends in various parts of the country who will remember her fondly. Memorial donations in her memory, if desired, may be made to the Dr. and Mrs. Ronald A. Passafaro Scholarship Fund for Northern Chautauqua Catholic School at the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF), or the charity of one’s choice. The family will be present on Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm at LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home , 20 Central Ave, Fredonia, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony R.C. Church, Cushing St, Fredonia, NY, Friday, March 3, 2023 at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Rt. 60, Fredonia, NY. Mrs. Passafaro’s funeral Mass will be lived streamed on her site on the Larson-Timko Funeral Home web site, larsontimkofuneralhome, beginning at 9:45 am on Friday with the funeral Mass commencing at 10am.
