Martha Mae Nolan Pierce, 91, of Fredonia, N.Y., died Wednesday November 10, 2021 at home with her loving family by her side. Martha was born February 26, 1930 in Jamestown, N.Y., to Harry and Beatrice (Fredlund) Nolan. A hard working woman, besides raising nine children, she held numerous jobs over the years. Martha worked for thirty years Red Wing from where she retired. She also worked at Kasbohm Chicken Farm, Fredonia Seed Company, at local grape farms and also in home health care. Martha was also a foster care mom.
While busy raising her family and working, Martha also had many interests.
She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and going to casinos. She also enjoyed vacationing in Florida and camping, attending concerts, puzzles and playing cards.
The matriarch of a large and loving family she is survived by: five daughters:
Kathy Samuelson, Cindy (Gary) Pazda, Roberta (Gary) Higgs, Darlene Burchett, and Patty Pierce; four sons: Herb (Cheryl) Pierce, Robert W. (Loretta)
Pierce, Jr., Charles (Josie) Pierce and Rodger (Helen) Pierce; 18 grandchildren and
20 great-grandchildren; her beloved pet, Mickey; also survived by her special kids, Chrissy Gehling and Dave Raczka and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces
and great nephews.
Besides her parents, Harry and Beatrice Nolan, her husband, Robert W. Pierce, Sr.,
Martha is predeceased by: her grandson Robert “Robbie” W. Pierce III; two sons in law: Jerry Samuelson and Howard Burchett: 5 sisters: Beatrice Kidd, Irene Rasmussen, Janet Kephart, Elizabeth Winchell, and Harriet Deering; also four brothers: Harry Nolan, Kenneth Fredlund, William “Bill Nolan and Kenneth “Skip”
Nolan.
Visitation will be today, (Friday November 12, 2021) from 4-7 pm at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia, N.Y., where funeral service will be held Saturday, (November 13, 2021) morning at 11 am. A private family interment will take place at the Webster Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial donations can be made to Fredonia Fire Department or Chautauqua Hospice Palliative Care.
