Mary Ann Damore, formerly of Fredonia, NY, passed away in Houston, Texas on April 15, 2023, following a lengthy illness.
Mary was born on April 12, 1955 to Dr. Patrick and Nancy Damore, the oldest of their three children. She was a graduate of Fredonia High School, class of 1973. She moved to Houston, Texas in 1979 and was a Registered Nurse at West Houston Medical Center until her recent retirement, after a rewarding and lengthy career.
Mary had a soft spot in her heart for her family and friends and was known to be generous and loving to each of them. She had a great love for animals and was active with Caring Critters, bringing her dog to visit residents at nursing homes and rehabilitation centers, and was also a volunteer at the Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation Coalition. She was a member of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, serving as Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Patrick and Nancy Damore. She is survived by: her stepmother, Doranne Damore; her sister: Susan (John) Whalen of Houston, Texas; her brother, Patrick (Jackie) Damore of Jamestown, New York; stepsisters: Renae (David) Holtz of Williamsville, New York, and Richelle Stephans of Orchard Park, New York; nephews and nieces: John Whalen, Jocelyn Garrison, Samuel Damore and Julia Damore.
Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Fredonia College Foundation for the Patrick R. Damore Scholarship Fund. On-line condolences may be made at larsontimkofuneralhome.com.
