Mary Frances Ann Clancy DiNoto Patterson, 92, of Dunkirk, NY, died Sunday January 15, 2023 at the Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mary was born July 31, 1930, at the Old Hasbrouck House, Old Greenfield Rd., Ellenville, NY, the daughter of Harry L. and Agnes (Wilklow) Clancy. Mary was a descendent of the three Hasbrouck brothers, who founded New Paltz, NY. She graduated, with honors, from the Albany Business College and worked with New York Bell Telephone Co. in New York City. At Bell Telephone, Mary worked in all departments:
switchboard, business office and the plant. Moving to Fredonia in 1963, she became active in the community and with her outgoing and pleasant personality made friends easily. She was active with the Junior Chamber of Commerce, served on the Girl Scout Board of Directors for 12 years, a den mother, a faculty dame, and started a Mah Jong group on the SUNY Fredonia campus. Mary continued to play Mah Jong throughout her life until her recent illness. She was an accomplished bridge player and was a member of the National Masters of American Contract Bridge League. Mary was a member of the Hasbrouck Family Assoc. and the Huguenot Historical Society.
Mary is survived by: her daughter, Dr. Deborah DiNoto (Craig Siudzinski) of Ellicottville, NY; her son, Michael T. DiNoto (Janis) of Cassadaga, NY; 2 granddaughters: Kristin E.M. DiNoto, of South Carolina and Kylie Stanton, of North Carolina.
She is predeceased by her husband, Bruce Patterson, who passed away April 14, 2020.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday January 20, 2023 at St. Joseph Church, 145 E. Main St., Fredonia at 1:30 pm. No prior visitation. Interment will be in Fantenkill Cemetery, Ellenville, NY. Flowers gratefully declined.
