Obituary for Russell Dalby

Russell Dalby, 93, of Fredonia, died after a brief illness, Friday (May 7, 2021) in Buffalo General Hospital.
He was born May 4, 1928, in Norfolk, VA, the son of the late William Garnett and Anna (Schott) Dalby.
He graduated from Drexel University and worked as a Professional Mechanical Engineer for E I Dupont De Nemours & Co. in Newark, Delaware for several decades.
A member of The First United Methodist Church of Fredonia, he formerly belonged to the First United Methodist Church of West Chester, PA.
For years, he was an active member of the local Lions Club and the Cockeyed Association. Russ enjoyed playing tennis, competing in board games, painting, socializing, volunteering his labor for Habitat for Humanity and other charities, and was an avid joke teller.
Survivors include one daughter, Marcia (Raymond) Belliotti of Fredonia; two grandchildren, Angelo (Alicia Lee) Belliotti of Rye, NY, and Vittoria Belliotti of Fredonia; a sister, Doris Leigh; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Aylene (Johnson) Dalby; one son, Douglass Dalby; and a sister, Jean Knettler.

Calling hours are on Sunday, May 9, 2021 from 2-4 PM at the Larson-Timko Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia, followed by a short service at 4 PM. Covid regulations will be in effect. Please wear a mask and maintain social distance. Due to capicity limitations, there may be delays. The service will be live streamed on Mr. Dalby's site on the Larson-Timko Funeral Home website, larsontimkofuneralhome.com. The live stream link will be available on Sunday at 3:45 pm with the service commencing at 4 pm. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
