Susan Boquard Moscato, 70, of Fredonia, N.Y., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, with her husband Ross by her side. Susan was the daughter of Francis and Mary Boquard of West Seneca. She married Ross Moscato of Fredonia, N.Y., in 1973. Susan graduated from Mount Mercy Academy in Buffalo and received her Associates Degree in Secretarial Science from Erie Community College North in 1972. Susan worked for many years as a legal secretary at various law firms. She also was a sales associate at JCPenney in Olean for 10 years. Before retirement, she and her husband Ross owned and operated Ross Optical in Olean for six years and Ellicottville Optical in Ellicottville for 30 years.

After living in Washington, D.C., and Hamburg, N.Y., she and Ross made their home in Olean, N.Y., where they raised their two daughters Sarah & Rachael. She kept busy transporting the girls to their dance classes and soccer games and also enjoyed many creative interests including ceramics, needle craft and paper quilling. If there was a garage sale posted for the weekend, you would most likely run into Susan sniffing out bargains. In her younger years she played softball and bowled on a womens bowling league, capturing for several years the Outhouse Trophy for Worst Bowler. She loved to swim and was fascinated by the stars. She loved to decorate and remodel her home which always looked like a magazine photo from House Beautiful. In 2010 Sue and Ross moved to Fredonia. Her favorite time was spent by Lake Erie with a cup of coffee.

Susan is survived by her husband, Ross of 49 years and daughters: Sarah (Adam) Spector of South Bristol, N.Y. and Rachael (Marco) Rocha of Walnut Creek, CA. She is also survived by her sisters: Barbara (Joseph) Rounds of Marila N.Y., Patricia Boquard of Tucson AZ., MaryLou (Rick) Race of Panama City Beach FL., Nancy (Ronald) Cinelli of Forestville, and Carol (Mark) Vingoe of Tucson AZ. Her three brothers: Francis (Patricia) Boquard of Alden, N.Y., Dr. Michael Boquard of Baltimore, MD., and John (Darcelle) Boquard of Buffalo. She is also survived by sisters- in-law: Jeanette, Rosemary, MaryLou and Lauren; brothers-in- law: Chuck and Dennis; her good friend, Tami Schrantz, many nephews and nieces and special in her heart was her little poodle, Riley. Besides her mother and father, she is predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Ross L. and Angeline Moscato.

Visitation will be held Friday from 12 pm - 2pm at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia, where a funeral service will follow at 2 pm. Susan's funeral service will be live streamed on her site on the Larson-Timko Funeral Home web site, larsontimkofuneralhome.com, starting Friday at 1:45 pm with the funeral service commencing at 2 pm.
