Obituary for Thomas J. . Ludwiszewski

Thomas J. Ludwiszewski Jr., 51, of Dunkirk, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday October 6, 2021 at Brooks Memorial Hospital. Tom was born October 20, 1969 in Dunkirk, N.Y., the son of the late Thomas J. Ludwiszewski, Sr. and Beverly Bremer Ludwiszewski. He was longtime volunteer fireman, serving with the Russell Volunteer Fire Department in Russell PA., the Murray Hose Company for over 30 years, where he was a former Chief and more recently with the Fredonia Fire Department. Tom was 9-1-1 Dispatcher of the City of Dunkirk, and a driver for Coach USA. He was employed at Cassadaga Job Corps at the time of his passing. He and his sister, Leslie, were co-chairs of the local fund raising effort for the Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon for many years. He was also active in several drum & bugle corps in the region including: Murray Men Drum and Bugle Corps, Dunkirk Patriots Drum and Bugler Corps, Mighty St. Joseph Drum Corps and the Kingman Drum and Bugle Corps. An avid sports fan, Tom enjoyed NASCAR, and was a longtime fan of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. He was a Lifetime Member of the Dunkirk Exempt Fireman’s Club.

Tom is survived by: his sister, Leslie J. Ludwiszewski, of Dunkirk; an uncle, William C. Bremer (Rita Halas), of Florida; two aunts: Jane Bremer and Barbara Babcock, both of Dunkirk and several cousins. Besides his parents, Thomas J. Ludwiszewski, Sr. and Beverly Bremer Ludwiszewski, he is predeceased by an uncle, Clarence Bremer.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 1-4 pm at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia, N.Y., where a funeral service will follow at 4 pm.
