Obituary for Virginia M. DeCeilio (Hennessey)

Virginia M. DeCeilio (Hennessey), 86, of Fredonia, N.Y. passed away Wednesday December 23, 2020 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Virginia was born September 6, 1934 to the late Joseph and Helen Hennessey. She graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1952. On June 21, 1958 she married John DeCeilio from Fredonia. Virginia was the longtime secretary of Fredonia Express, their family trucking business. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Virginia was a passionate Buffalo Bills fan. Above all, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Virginia is survived by: her daughter, Andrea (Jeff) Tramuto of Fredonia; her son, John DeCeilio (Jennifer) of Fayetteville, GA.; five grandchildren: CW4 Steven DeCeilio, U.S. Army, of Colorado Springs, Co., Michelle Martin (Capt. Ryan Martin, U.S. Army), of Richmond VA, Ryan Saegert of Atlanta, GA., Dr. Patrick Seastedt, Maj., U.S. Air Force (Rachel) of Alexandria, VA. and Jonathan Seastedt of Jamestown, N.Y.; four great-grandchildren: Ashton, Aidan, Gavin, and Sofia; one expectant great-grandchild and her sister, Joan Haas (late Donald) of Fredonia.

Besides her parents Joseph and Helen Hennessey, she is predeceased by: her husband, John DeCelio; her daughter, Kathleen Seastedt and her infant brother, John.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, a private funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church.
Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Fredonia.
